Republican Ohio officeholders and Senate rival Frank LaRose endorse Bernie Moreno.

Columbus, Ohio — Following a contentious and costly primary in which he relentlessly criticized his opponent as untrustworthy, Republican Senate candidate Bernie Moreno received the endorsement of Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose and other GOP statewide officeholders on Thursday.

After becoming worried about the country's trajectory, LaRose decided to run for the Senate. He expressed his belief that Moreno "has what it takes to bring real change to Washington and work with President Trump to make America great again" in a post on X, the former Twitter.

After losing the previous president's support to Moreno, LaRose wrote, "We urgently need to change course." Sherrod Brown's retirement and a change in leadership in Washington are the first steps in that direction. "I am prepared to lend a hand," LaRose stated.

As the once-bellwether state has taken a more conservative stance in recent years, third-term Democratic incumbent Brown is seen as one of his party's most vulnerable senators this year due to his liberal voting record.

Immediately following Tuesday's vote, the Ohio Democratic Party launched an anti-Moreno website, which included the attacks on the nominee by LaRose and other Republicans within the party.

Ohio Treasurer Robert Sprague, Ohio Auditor Keith Faber, and Moreno's old political buddy Lt. Gov. Jon Husted joined LaRose in endorsing him on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, Moreno received the endorsement of Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, who had previously supported rival candidate Matt Dolan in the primary.

Moreno got the support of Attorney General Dave Yost even before the primary.
