Jonathan Majors' ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari sued him in federal court Tuesday, three months after a New York City jury convicted him of assault and harassment.
In court papers, Jabbari, a British dancer suing Majors, the former Marvel actor, for defamation, malicious prosecution, assault, and battery in the Southern District of New York, alleges that Majors physically abused her several times during their nearly two-year relationship, starting in July 2022.
She claims in the lawsuit that Majors has attacked her reputation since his December conviction. The lawsuit claims that Majors has called Grace a liar at every turn and very specifically claimed that he has never touched a woman to convince the world that Grace is not a victim of domestic abuse but a crazy liar who should be treated as such.
Jabbari claims in court that Majors “has consistently engaged in an escalating pattern of abusive behavior towards women since as early as 2013.” Jabbari, who met Majors on “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” in 2021, did not name those he abused. Jabbari's lawyer, Brittany Henderson, did not respond to a request for comment.
Emma Duncan and Maura Hooper, two other Majors ex-girlfriends, told The New York Times in February that he had physically and emotionally abused them. Claim dates range from 2013 to 2019. After Hooper accused Majors of emotional abuse, his lawyer told the Times, “Looking back, he is embarrassed by some of his jealous behavior.” Majors denied physically abusing Duncan.
Marvel dropped Majors, a Hollywood rising star, in December after his conviction. Majors was scheduled to reprise his Marvel movie role as antagonist Kang the Conqueror in 2026's “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.” In an interview with ABC News in January, Majors denied injuring Jabbari, saying he had witnessed domestic abuse but never committed it.
“Now that Majors can no longer physically abuse Grace, he has resorted to very publicly abusing her reputation,” the lawsuit alleges. After his arrest, Majors launched a lengthy media campaign smearing Grace, claiming he was ‘completely innocent,’ ‘is probably the victim,’ that he ‘did not assault her whatsoever,’ and that ‘this woman was having an emotional crisis, for which she was taken to a hospital’.”
Jabbari claims in the lawsuit that Majors attacked her again in September 2022, “this time causing serious injuries to her body.”
