Crews search Pennsylvania stream for toddler who fell in.

Officials said Sunday morning rescuers are searching for a 6-year-old child who was washed away in a Delaware County, Pennsylvania, creek on Saturday night.

Sunday at 8 a.m., personnel searched for a girl who fell into Chester Creek at 7 p.m. Saturday night. After hours of looking for the girl, officials stopped around 10 p.m. Saturday.

Three girls were playing near Chester Creek around 7 p.m. on Saturday when two slid on the mud and fell into the water, according to officials. One daughter escaped, but officials fear the 6-year-old is still in the water.

Tyeesha Reynolds, the girl's aunt, told NBC Philadelphia that her daughter tried to cling onto the small girl's jacket but couldn't and got swept away into the creek.

Philadelphia also reported that some of the girl's family members jumped in the water and searched before crews arrived.

According to Tim Boyce, the director of Delaware County's Department of Emergency Services, the region of the creek may be found in Chester, Delaware County, close to the intersection of 7th Street and the Avenue of the States.

Rescue boats are currently searching for the girl in the water, while the Coast Guard is conducting a helicopter search over the site.

It has been reported by many sources that the Delaware River is included in the search area.
