BOSTON... Due to a left hamstring injury, Bucks two-time Most Valuable Player Giannis Antetokounmpo was unable to play in Wednesday's game against the Boston Celtics, which the Bucks lost 122-119.
During the shootaround that took place on Wednesday morning, Antetokounmpo was not present with the club, and he did not go to Boston.
On Thursday, he will be reunited with the squad in Milwaukee, where the Bucks are now competing against the Brooklyn Nets in the second game of a back-to-back series.
Antetokounmpo is having one of the finest seasons of his career, averaging 30.8 points and 11.2 rebounds while also posting career highs in assists (6.4) and field goal percentage (61.6%). He is also having one of the worst seasons of his career
This was the second game in a row that Antetokounmpo was unable to play due to the injury, and it was only the sixth game that he has missed at this point in the season.
The Bucks, on the other hand, have been able to achieve some level of success without Antetokounmpo in the lineup. They have already won three of the four games, including a victory over the Phoenix Suns by a score of 140-129 on Sunday.
Damian Lillard has improved his scoring average to 31.5 points per game in the four games in which Antetokounmpo is not participating. Previously, he had scored 23.9 points per game in games in which Antetokounmpo was taking part.
